While not my favorite blend, the flavor is decent. I like that it has trace minerals. The product came well sealed and fresh.
But not my cup of tea. As one reviewer put it, "It has a good black tea flavor with a nice hint of citrus to it. The kelp flavor is very mild and subtle, hardly any fishy taste." Agreed. That fishy taste, though. It's there. If only mildly. The fishiness is barely noticeable in the taste, but it's quite prominent in the aroma. In the steam that wafts out of your cup. I just find it off-putting. I will say that the actual tea is of good quality -- with nary a note of bitterness or astringency.
This tea arrived quickly and well-packaged. I liked that there's only three simple ingredients: tea, kelp and orange peel. The tea is sourced from Taiwan, and the kelp is from Maine.
I love tea, and have tried a lot of different combinations, including kelp, previously. I like that kelp has some iodine that's good for my thyroid, and I don't mind the "sea" smell. I wanted to love this tea, but I don't. I can see, smell and taste all three ingredients (tea, kelp and orange peel) with kelp being the strongest smell, but I don't think that the flavors work well together at all. I tried it a few times, and experimented with the amount of dry tea per cup, but cannot make an enjoyable cup out of it :(
I'm pleasantly surprised with this ocean blend tea. It has a good black tea flavor with a nice hint of citrus to it. The kelp flavor is very mild and subtle, hardly any fishy taste or that of the seaweed. It is refreshing and delightful to drink. I really enjoy it a lot. It also has a good amount of caffeine to keep me stay focused.
This comes in a resealable PET Kraft bag. The loose tea leaves look great and smell fresh. The black tea leaves are coarsely chopped and there are small chunks of dried orange peel mixed in. I don't really see the Kelp pieces in there since they would just look like the chopped black tea leaves. My bag has a best before day of about 16 months form now. Overall, I really enjoy this tea. Delicious and fresh. I would recommend giving it a try. It is a little pricey but worth it for the quality and taste.
I have just started drinking loose leaf tea, and I’m discovering that one of the greatest things about it is being able to adjust the amount I use based on the tea itself. This tea is fairy mild compared to some, so I like to use a bit more of it when brewing.
